Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Backnang, Germany, d&b audiotechnik is one of the most respected names in professional audio. Its loudspeakers, amplifiers and software sit at the heart of the world's biggest tours, festivals, theatres and installed venues, designed and hand built in Germany and supported by partners in close to one hundred countries.
From the beginning, d&b has designed loudspeakers and amplification as a single system rather than a collection of parts. d&b loudspeakers are driven exclusively by d&b amplifiers, with the whole signal chain engineered and optimised as one. Paired with the d&b software workflow, including ArrayCalc for system design and R1 for control, a d&b system behaves in the room exactly as it did in the design. d&b calls this joined up philosophy 'system reality', and it extends into education, application support, service and custom solutions.

In recent years that conviction has driven d&b Soundscape, the company's object based immersive audio platform.
